حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

ذَكَرُوا لَهُ رَجُلًا يَقُصُّ فَجَاءَ فِي الْقَوْمِ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ «سُبْحَانَ اللهِ كَذَا وَكَذَا» فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ ذَلِكَ قَامَ فَقَالَ «أَلَا تَسْمَعُوا؟» فَلَمَّا نَظَرُوا إِلَيْهِ قَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ لَأَهْدَى مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ وَأَصْحَابِهِ إِنَّكُمْ لَمُتَمَسِّكُونَ بِطَرَفِ ضَلَالَةٍ»

✧ They mentioned to him a man who narrates stories, so he came among the people and I heard him say: "Glory be to Allah, such and such." When he heard that, he stood up and said: "Do you not hear?" When they looked at him, he said: "Indeed you are more guided than Muhammad ﷺ and his companions. Indeed you are clinging to a fringe of misguidance."
