حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ ذُكِرَ الدَّجَّالُ عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فَقَالَ
«لَا تُكْثِرُوا ذِكْرَهُ فَإِنَّ الْأَمْرَ إِذَا قُضِيَ فِي السَّمَاءِ كَانَ أَسْرَعُ لِنُزُولِهِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ أَنْ يَظْهَرَ عَلَى أَلْسِنَةِ النَّاسِ» قَالَ «أَلَا وَكَيْفَ بِكُمْ وَالْقَوْمُ آمِنُونَ وَأَنْتُمْ خَائِفُونَ؟ وَكَيْفَ بِكُمْ وَالْقَوْمُ فِي الظِّلِّ وَأَنْتُمْ فِي الضِّحِّ؟»

✧ “Do not mention him excessively, for when the matter is decreed in heaven, it is quicker to descend to the earth that it appear on people's tongues.” He said: “Indeed, how will you be when the people are secure and you are fearful? And how will you be when the people are in shade and you are in the sun?”
