حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَدِينِيِّ فُسْتُقَةُ ثنا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ

«كُنْتُ أَنَا وَعُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ مَعَ النِّسْوَةِ فِي أُطُمِ حَسَّانَ وَكَانَ يُطَأْطِئُ لِي مَرَّةً فَأَنْظُرُ وَأُطَأْطِئُ لَهُ فَيَنْظُرُ»

✧ “ʿUmar b. Abī Salamah and I were with the women on the day of the Trench, in the fort of Ḥassān. He would stoop down for me once and I would look, and I would stoop down for him and he would look.”
