حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الزِّئْبَقِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ الْيَمَامِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفِ بْنِ حَبَّانَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ طَلْقٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ «نَهَى أَنْ نتَقَدْمَ قَبْلَ رَمَضَانَ بِصَوْمِ يَوْمٍ حَتَّى يَرَوُا الْهِلَالَ أَوْ تَفِيَ الْعِدَّةُ ثُمَّ لَا نُفْطِرُ حَتَّى يَرَوْهُ أَوْ تَفِي الْعِدَّةُ»

Translation

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, that he forbade us to start fasting a day before Ramadan until we see the crescent or complete the count, and we should not break the fast until we see it or complete the count.
