حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْأَبَّارُ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الْكُوفِيُّ ثنا فَضَالُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيِّ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ وَأَمْسَى دَعَا بِهَذِهِ الدَّعَوَاتِ «اللهُمَّ أَنْتَ أَحَقُّ مَنْ ذُكِرَ وَأَحَقُّ مَنْ أَعْطَى أَنْتَ الْمَلِكُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ وَالْفَرْدُ لَا تَهْلِكُ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ هَالِكٌ إِلَّا وَجْهَكَ لَنْ تُطَاعَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِكَ وَلَمْ تُعْصَ إِلَّا بِعِلْمِكَ تُطَاعُ فَتَشْكَرُ وَتُعْصَى فَتَغْفِرُ أَقْرَبُ شَهِيدٍ وَأَدْنَى حَفِيظٍ حُلْتَ دُونَ الثُّغُورِ وَأَخَذْتَ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَكَتَبْتَ الْآثَارَ وَنَسَخْتَ الْآجَالَ الْقُلُوبُ لَكَ مُفْضِيَةٌ وَالسِّرُّ عِنْدَكَ عَلَانِيَةٌ وَالْحَلَالُ مَا أَحْلَلْتَ وَالْحَرَامُ مَا حَرَّمْتَ وَالدِّينُ مَا شَرَّعْتَ وَالْأَمْرُ مَا قَضَيْتَ وَالْخَلْقُ خَلْقُكَ وَالْعَبْدُ عَبْدُكَ وَأَنْتَ اللهُ الرَّءُوفُ الرَّحِيمُ أَسْأَلُكَ بِنُورِ وَجْهِكَ الَّذِي أَشْرَقَتْ لَهُ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ بِكُلِّ حَقٍّ هُوَ لَكَ وَبِحَقِّ السَّائِلِينَ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ تَقْبَلَنِي فِي هَذِهِ الْغَدَاةِ أَوْ فِي هَذِهِ الْعَشِيَّةِ وَأَنْ تُجِيرَنِي مِنَ النَّارِ بِقُدْرَتِكَ»

✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ entered the morning or the evening, he would supplicate with these words: “O God, You are more worthy of being remembered and more worthy of giving. You are the King, no partner is with You. You are the One, nothing perishes except Your face. You are not obeyed except by Your permission, and You are not disobeyed except by Your knowledge. When You are obeyed You give thanks, and when You are disobeyed You forgive. You are the nearest witness and the closest guardian. You intervened before the frontiers, You seized the forelocks, You recorded the traces, and You copied the appointed times. The hearts are disclosed to You, and the secret with You is open. The lawful is what You have made lawful, the unlawful is what You have made unlawful, the religion is what You have legislated, the command is what You have decreed, the creation is Your creation, and the servant is Your servant. You are God, the Clement, the Merciful. I ask You by the light of Your face, by which the heavens and the earth shine, by every right that is Yours, and by the right of those who ask You, that You accept me in this morning or in this evening and that You protect me from the Fire by Your power.”
