حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُنِيبِ الْمَدَنِيُّ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَخْبَرَهُمْ بِالْخُرُوجِ إِلَى بَدْرٍ وَأَجْمَعَ الْخُرُوجَ مَعَهُ» فَقَالَ لَهُ خَالُهُ أَبُو بُرْدَةَ بْنُ نِيَارٍ أَقِمْ عَلَى أُمِّكَ يَا ابْنَ أُخْتٍ فَقَالَ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ بَلْ أَنْتَ أَقِمْ عَلَى أُخْتِكَ فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ «فَأَمَرَ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ بِالْمُقَامِ عَلَى أُمِّهِ وَخَرَجَ بِأَبِي بُرْدَةَ فَقَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَقَدْ تُوُفِّيَتْ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا»

✧ “That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed them about marching out to Badr and he resolved to march out with him.” His maternal uncle Abu Burdah b. Niyar said to him, “Stay with your mother, O son of my sister.” Abu Umamah said, “Rather, you stay with your sister.” That was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, “so he commanded Abu Umamah to stay with his mother, and he set out with Abu Burdah. Then the Prophet ﷺ arrived while she had died, and he prayed over her.”
