al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 7885

✧ I asked: "O Prophet of Allah, how many are the number of prophets?" He replied: "One hundred and twenty-four thousand, among them are three hundred and fifteen messenger groups.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ثنا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاتِكَةِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ ذُرْوَةُ سَنَامِ الْإِسْلَامِ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ لَا يَنَالُهُ إِلَّا أَفْضَلُهُمْ

✧ On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ he said: “The peak of the hump of Islam is jihad in the way of Allah; none attains it except the best of them.”
