حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ؓ قَالَ
قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ضُحًى فَكَبَّرَ ثَلَاثَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ اسْقِنَا ثَلَاثًا اللهُمَّ ارْزُقْنَا سَمْنًا وَلَبَنًا وَشَحْمًا وَلَحْمًا» وَمَا يُرَى فِي السَّمَاءِ سَحَابٌ فَثَارَتْ رِيحٌ وَغَبَرَةٌ ثُمَّ اجْتَمَعَ سَحَابٌ فَصَبَّتِ السَّمَاءُ وَصَاحَ أَهْلُ الْأَسْوَاقِ وَتَفَارَّوْا إِلَى سَقَائِفِ الْمَسْجِدِ وَإِلَى بُيُوتِهِمْ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَائِمٌ فَسَالَتِ الطُّرُقُ وَرَأَيْنَا ذَلِكَ الْمَطَرَ عَلَى أَطْرَافِ شَعْرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلَى كَتِفَيْهِ وَمَنْكِبَيْهِ كَأَنَّهُ الْجُمَانُ فَانْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَانْصَرَفْتُ أَمْشِي عَلَى مِشْيَتِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ هَذَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ بِرَبِّهِ قَالَ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ مَا رَأَيْتُ عَامًا أَكْثَرَ سَمْنًا وَلَبَنًا وَشَحْمًا وَلَحْمًا إِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ فِي الطُّرُقِ مَا يَكَادُ يَشْتَرِيَهِ أَحَدٌ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood in the mosque in the forenoon and said “Allāhu akbar” three times, then said: “O Allah, give us rain three times. O Allah, grant us ghee, milk, fat, and meat.” There was not a cloud to be seen in the sky, but a wind and dust arose, then clouds gathered, the sky poured down, the people of the markets cried out and fled to the porticoes of the mosque and their houses while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was standing. The streets flowed with water, and we saw that rain on the ends of the hair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, on his shoulders and upper arms, like pearls. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ departed, and I departed walking with his gait while he was saying: “This — I tell you of its Lord.” Abū Umāmah said: “I have not seen a year with more ghee, milk, fat, and meat. These things in the streets — hardly anyone buys them.”
