حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بَكْرٍ السَّرَّاجِ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّرْجُمَانِيُّ ثنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُدْرِكٍ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «تَمَامُ الرِّبَاطِ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا وَمَنْ رَابَطَ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا لَمْ يَبِعْ وَلَمْ يَشْتَرِ وَلَمْ يُحْدِثْ حَدَثًا خَرَجَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ كَيَوْمِ وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The complete period of ribat (frontier guarding) is forty days. Whoever performs ribat for forty days without buying or selling and without committing any sin will emerge from his sins as on the day his mother gave birth to him."
