حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا وهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ أَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ الصَّعْبِ بْنِ جَثَّامَةَ

أَنَّهُ أَهْدَى لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ فَرَدَّهُ فَرَأَى ذَلِكَ فِي وَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّا لَمْ نَرُدَّهُ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا أَنَّا حُرُمٌ»

✧ He gifted a wild donkey to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he returned it, and he saw that in his face, so he said: "We did not return it to you except that we are in the state of iḥrām."
