حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ الْجُرْجَانِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مَكْحُولًا يَقُولُ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ قَالَ

كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَجَاءَهُ عَمْرُو بْنُ قُرَّةَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَدْ كُتِبَتْ عَلَيَّ الشِّقْوَةُ فَلَا أُرَانِي أُرْزَقُ إِلَّا مِنْ دُفِّي بِكَفِّي فَتَأْذَنُ لِي فِي الْغِنَاءِ مِنْ غَيْرِ فَاحِشَةٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا آذَنُ لَكَ وَلَا كَرَامَةَ كَذَبْتَ يَا عَدُوَّ اللهِ لَقَدْ رَزَقَكَ اللهُ حَلَالًا طَيِّبًا فَاخْتَرْتَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللهُ مِنْ رِزْقِهِ مَكَانَ مَا أَحَلَّ اللهُ مِنْ حَلَالِهِ وَلَوْ كُنْتُ تَقَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكَ لَفَعَلْتُ بِكَ قُمْ عَنِّي وَتُبْ إِلَى اللهِ أَمَا إِنَّكَ إِنْ نِلْتَ بَعْدَ التَّقْدِمَةِ شَيْئًا ضَرَبْتُكَ ضَرْبًا وَجِيعًا وَحَلَقْتُ رَأْسَكَ مُثْلَةً وَنَفَيْتُكَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ وَأَحْلَلْتُ سَلَبَكَ نُهْبَةً لِفِتْيَانِ الْمَدِينَةِ» فَقَامَ عَمْرٌو وَبِهِ مِنَ الشَّرِّ وَالْخِزْيِ مَا لَا يَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا اللهُ فَلَمَّا وَلَّى قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «هَؤُلَاءِ الْعُصَاةُ مَنْ مَاتَ مِنْهُمْ بِغَيْرِ تَوْبَةٍ حَشَرَهُ اللهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَمَا كَانَ مُخَنَّثًا عُرْيَانًا لَا يَسْتَتِرُ مِنَ النَّاسِ بِهُدْبَةٍ كُلَّمَا قَامَ صُرِعَ»

✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when Amr b. Qurrah came to him and said, “O Messenger of Allah, misery has been decreed for me, and I see that I have no provision except from my tambourine with my hand. Will you permit me to sing without obscenity?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “I do not permit you, nor honor. You have lied, O enemy of Allah! Allah has provided you with lawful, good sustenance, but you chose what Allah has forbidden of His provision over what He has made lawful of His lawful sustenance. If I had warned you before, I would have done so. Get away from me and repent to Allah. Indeed, if you obtain anything after this warning, I will strike you a painful blow, shave your head as a disgrace, banish you from your family, and make your spoils lawful plunder for the youths of Madinah.” Amr got up, bearing evil and disgrace that only Allah knows. When he turned away, the Prophet ﷺ said, “These are the disobedient ones. Whoever among them dies without repentance, Allah will raise him on the Day of Resurrection as he was, effeminate, naked, not covering himself from the people even with a thread; whenever he stands, he falls down.”
