حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَدَّادِ بْنِ الْهَادِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي إِحْدَى صَلَاتَيِ النَّهَارِ الظُّهْرِ أَوِ الْعَصْرِ وَهُوَ حَامِلٌ الْحَسَنَ أَوِ الْحُسَيْنَ فَتَقَدَّمَ فَوَضَعَهُ عِنْدَ قَدَمِهِ الْيُمْنَى فَسَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَجْدَةً فَأَطَالَهَا فَرَفَعْتُ رَأْسِيَ مِنْ بَيْنِ النَّاسِ فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَاجِدٌ وَإِذَا الْغُلَامُ رَاكِبٌ ظَهْرَهُ فَعُدْتُ فَسَجَدْتُ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَاسٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَقَدْ سَجَدْتَ فِي صَلَاتِكَ هَذِهِ سَجْدَةً مَا كُنْتَ تَسْجُدُهَا أَشَيْئًا أُمِرْتَ بِهِ؟ أَوْ كَانَ يُوحَى إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ «كُلٌّ لَمْ يَكُنْ وَلَكِنَّ ابْنِي ارْتَحَلَنِي فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أُعْجِلَهُ حَتَّى يَقْضِيَ حَاجَتَهُ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us for one of the two daytime prayers, Zuhr or Asr, carrying al-Hasan or al-Husayn. He came forward and placed him by his right foot, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrated and lengthened the prostration. I raised my head from among the people and saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrating while the boy was riding on his back. I returned to prostration. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished, people said: “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, you prostrated in this prayer a prostration you never used to do. Was it something you were commanded to do, or was revelation coming to you?” He said: “None of that. But my son climbed on me, and I disliked to rush him until he finished his need.”
