وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ لَنَا إِنِّي أَتَغَيَّظُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأَعْذُرُكُمْ ثُمَّ أَدْعُو اللهَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ اللهُمَّ مَا لَعَنْتُهُمْ أَوْ شَتَمْتُهُمْ أَوْ تَغَيَّظْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَاجْعَلْهُ لَهُمْ بَرَكَةً وَرَحْمَةً وَمَغْفِرَةً وَصَلَاةً فَإِنَّهُمْ أَهْلِي وَإِنِّي لَهُمْ نَاصِحٌ

Translation

✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say to us: "Indeed, I get angry with you and excuse you, then I supplicate to Allah between me and Him, 'O Allah, do not punish them, curse them, or be angry with them. Rather, make them a source of blessing, mercy, forgiveness, and prayer for them, for they are my people and I am their well-wisher."
