وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ لَنَا إِنَّ لِأَحَدِكُمْ يَوْمَ يَمُوتُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَخِلَّاءَ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَمْنَعُهُ مِمَّا يَسْأَلُ فَذَلِكَ مَالُهُ وَمِنْهُمْ خَلِيلٌ يَنْطَلِقُ مَعَهُ حَتَّى يَلِجَ الْقَبْرَ وَلَا يُعْطِيهِ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَصْحَبُهُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَأُولَئِكَ قَرَابَتُهُ وَمِنْهُمْ خَلِيلٌ يَقُولُ أَنَا وَاللهِ ذَاهِبٌ مَعَكَ حَيْثُ ذَهَبْتَ وَلَسْتُ مُفَارِقَكَ أَبَدًا فَذَلِكَ عَمَلُهُ إِنْ كَانَ خَيْرًا وَإِنْ كَانَ شَرًّا
Translation
Chain of narrators
- Samurah b. Jundub
✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ used to say to us: “One of you on the day he dies has three companions: among them one who withholds from him what he asks—that is his wealth; among them a companion who goes with him until he enters the grave but gives him nothing and does not accompany him after that—those are his relatives; and among them a companion who says, ‘By God, I am going with you wherever you go, and I will never part from you’—that is his deeds, whether they be good or evil.”
