حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ الصُّورِيُّ ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ نَافِعٍ الْأَرْسُوقِيُّ ثنا السَّرِيُّ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ
عَنْ سَلْمَانَ ؓ فِي إِسْلَامِهِ قَالَ لَمَّا قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ صَنَعْتُ طَعَامًا فَجِئْتُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا يَا سَلْمَانُ؟» قُلْتُ صَدَقَةٌ فَقَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ «كُلُوا» وَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ ثُمَّ إِنِّي رَجَعْتُ حَتَّى جَمَعْتُ طَعَامًا فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِهِ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا يَا سَلْمَانُ؟» قُلْتُ هَدِيَّةٌ فَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ فَأَكَلَ وَقَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ «كُلُوا»

✧ From Salman ؓ regarding his embracing of Islam, he said: When the Prophet ﷺ arrived in Madinah, I prepared some food and brought it to the Prophet ﷺ. He said, "What is this, O Salman?" I said, "Charity." So he said to his companions, "Eat," but he did not eat. Then I returned until I had gathered some food and brought it to him. He said, "What is this, O Salman?" I said, "A gift." So he reached out with his hand and ate, and said to his companions, "Eat."
