حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثنا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِهَابٍ ثنا النَّضْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَرَشِيُّ ثنا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَتَتَّبِعُنَّ سُنَنَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ شِبْرًا بِشِبْرٍ وَذِرَاعًا بِذِرَاعٍ حَتَّى لَوْ دَخَلُوا جُحْرَ ضَبٍّ لَاتَّبَعْتُمُوهُمْ» قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى؟ قَالَ «فَمَنْ إِلَّا الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “You will certainly follow the ways of those before you, span by span and cubit by cubit, until even if they entered a lizard’s hole you would follow them.” We said: O Messenger of God, the Jews and the Christians? He said: “Who else but the Jews and the Christians?”
