حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْوَزِيرُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ بْنِ سِنَانِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ مُسَمِّعٍ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ بْنِ سَهْلِ ابْنِ أَخِي كَعْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ
لَمَّا قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ مِنْ حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ صَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ لَمْ يَسُؤْنِي قَطُّ فَاعْرَفُوا ذَلِكَ لَهُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي رَاضٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ وَعَلِيٍّ وَطَلْحَةَ وَالزُّبَيْرِ وَسَعْدٍ وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ وَالْمُهَاجِرِينَ الْأَوَّلِينَ رَاضٍ فَاعْرَفُوا ذَلِكَ لَهُمْ» أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ احْفَظُونِي فِي أَصْحَابِي وَأَصْهَارِي وَأَخْتَانِي لَا يَطْلُبَنَّكُمُ اللهُ بِمَظْلِمَةِ أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ارْفَعُوا الْمُسْتَنْكِرَ عَنِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَإِذَا مَاتَ أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ فَقُولُوا فِيهِ خَيْرًا

✧ When the Prophet ﷺ came to Madinah from the Farewell Pilgrimage, he ascended the pulpit, praised God and extolled Him, then said: 'O people, Abu Bakr has never harmed me, so acknowledge that for him. O people, I am pleased with Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali, Talhah, al-Zubayr, Sa'd, Abd al-Rahman b. Awf, and the first Muhajirun—I am pleased with them, so acknowledge that for them.' O people, honor me concerning my companions, my in-laws, and my sons-in-law. Let not God seek you for the grievance of any one of them. O people, remove the disapproved from the Muslims, and when one of them dies, speak well of him.
