al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 5588

✧ Sahl b. Hunayf b. Wahib b. Hakim, also known as Uqaym b. Tha'laba b. Majda'a b. Al Harith b. 'Amr, known as Abu Thabit "Badr'i", died in Kufa, and Ali b. Abi Talib prayed upon him.

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ الْأَخْمِيمِيُّ الْمِصْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ثنا عَنْبَسَةُ ثنا يُونُسُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

«تَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِمَكَّةَ خَدِيجَةَ بِنْتَ خُوَيْلِدٍ وَكَانَتْ قَبْلَهُ تَحْتَ عَتِيقِ بْنِ عَائِذٍ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ ثُمَّ تَزَوَّجَ بِمَكَّةَ عَائِشَةَ لَمْ يَتَزَوَّجْ بِكْرًا غَيْرَهَا ثُمَّ تَزَوَّجَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتَ عُمَرَ وَكَانَتْ قَبْلَهُ تَحْتَ خُنَيْسِ بْنِ حُذَافَةَ السَّهْمِيِّ ثُمَّ تَزَوَّجَ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتَ زَمْعَةَ وَكَانَتْ قَبْلَهُ تَحْتَ السَّكَنِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو أَخِي بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ لُؤَيٍّ ثُمَّ تَزَوَّجَ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ وَكَانَتْ قَبْلَهُ تَحْتَ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَحْشٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ أَسَدِ خُزَيْمَةَ ثُمَّ تَزَوَّجَ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ وَكَانَ اسْمَهَا هِنْدٌ وَكَانَتْ قَبْلَهُ تَحْتَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَسَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى ثُمَّ تَزَوَّجَ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ جَحْشٍ وَكَانَتْ قَبْلَهُ تَحْتَ زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةِ ثُمَّ تَزَوَّجَ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ وَسَبَى جُوَيْرِيَةَ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ أَبِي ضِرَارٍ مِنْ بَنِي الْمُصْطَلِقِ مِنْ خُزَاعَةَ فِي غَزْوَتِهِ الَّتِي هَدَمَ فِيهَا مَنَاةَ غَزْوَةِ الْمُرَيْسِيعِ وَسَبَى صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيِّ بْنِ أَخْطَبَ مِنْ بَنِي النَّضِيرِ وَكَانَتَا مِمَّا أَفَاءَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَسَمَ لَهُمَا وَاسْتَسَرَ رَيْحَانَةَ مِنْ بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ ثُمَّ أَعْتَقَهَا فَلَحِقَتْ بِأَهْلِهَا وَاحْتَجَبَتْ وَهِيَ عِنْدَ أَهْلِهَا وَطَلَّقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْعَالِيَةَ بِنْتَ ظَبْيَانَ وَفَارَقَ أُخْتَ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ كِلَابٍ وَفَارَقَ أُخْتَ بَنِي الْجَوْنِ الْكِنْدِيَّةَ مِنْ أَجْلِ بَيَاضٍ كَانَ بِهَا وَتُوُفِّيَتْ زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ خُزَيْمَةَ الْهِلَالِيَّةُ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَيٌّ وَبَلَغَنَا أَنَّ الْعَالِيَةَ بِنْتَ ظَبْيَانَ تَزَوَّجَتْ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُحَرِّمَ اللهُ نِسَاءَهُ فَنَكَحَتِ ابْنَ عَمٍّ لَهَا مِنْ قَوْمِهَا وَوَلَدَتْ فِيهِمْ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Khadijah bt. Khuwaylid in Makkah; before him she had been married to 'Atiq b. 'A'idh al-Makhzumi. Then he married 'A'ishah in Makkah; he did not marry any virgin besides her. Then he married in Madinah Hafsah bt. 'Umar; before him she had been married to Khunays b. Hudhafah al-Sahmi. Then he married Sawdah bt. Zam'ah; before him she had been married to al-Sakan b. 'Amr, the brother of Banu 'Amir b. Lu'ayy. Then he married Umm Habibah bt. Abi Sufyan; before him she had been married to 'Ubayd Allah b. Jahsh al-Asadi, of Asad Khuzaymah. Then he married Umm Salamah bt. Abi Umayyah, whose name was Hind; before him she had been married to Abu Salamah b. 'Abd al-Asad b. 'Abd al-'Uzza. Then he married Zaynab bt. Jahsh; before him she had been married to Zayd b. Harithah. Then he married Maymunah bt. al-Harith. He took Juwayriyah bt. al-Harith b. Abi Dirar of Banu al-Mustaliq of Khuza'ah as a captive during his expedition in which he destroyed Manat, the expedition of al-Muraysi'. He also took Safiyyah bt. Huyayy b. Akhtab of Banu al-Nadir as a captive. They were both among what Allah granted him as spoils, and he allotted shares to them. He took Rayhanah of Banu Qurayzah as a concubine, then freed her, and she joined her family and veiled herself while she was with her family. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ divorced al-'Aliyah bt. Zabyan, and he separated from the sister of Banu 'Amr b. Kilab, and he separated from the sister of Banu al-Jawn al-Kindiyyah because of a whiteness that was in her. Zaynab bt. Khuzaymah al-Hilaliyyah died while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was alive. It reached us that al-'Aliyah bt. Zabyan married after Allah made his wives unlawful to remarry, and she married a cousin of hers from her people and bore children among them.
