حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ يَقُولُ «سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ هُوَ أَبُو زَيْدٍ وَهُوَ الَّذِي جَمَعَ الْقُرْآنَ وَابْنُهُ عُمَيْرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ وَالِي عُمَرَ وَهُوَ سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ»

✧ I heard Muhammad b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Numayr say: 'Saʿd b. ʿUbayd is Abū Zayd, and he is the one who collected the Qur'an. His son ʿUmayr b. Saʿd was the governor of ʿUmar. He is Saʿd b. ʿUbayd b. al-Nuʿmān.'
