حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ قَالَا ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ الْعَبَّادَانِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ النَّرْسِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي نُصْرَةَ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ الْأَطْوَلِ

أَنَّ أَخَاهُ مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ ثَلَاثَ مِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ وَتَرَكَ عِيَالًا فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُنْفِقَهَا عَلَى عِيَالِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ أَخَاكَ مَحْبُوسٌ بِدَيْنِهِ فَاقْضِ عَنْهُ» فَقَضَيْتُ عَنْهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَدْ أَدَّيْتُ عَنْهُ إِلَّا دِينَارَيْنِ ادَّعَتْهُمَا امْرَأَةٌ لَيْسَتْ لَهَا بَيِّنَةٌ قَالَ «أَعْطِهَا فَإِنَّهَا صَادِقَةٌ»

✧ That his brother died, leaving three hundred dirhams and dependents. I wanted to spend it on his dependents, but the Messenger of God ﷺ said, “Your brother is detained by his debt, so settle it on his behalf.” I settled it on his behalf, then I said, “O Messenger of God, I have paid on his behalf except for two dinars which a woman claimed without any proof.” He said, “Give them to her, for she is truthful.”
