al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 5363

✧ Saad b. Ubadah al-Ansari, then al-Khazraji, a follower from Badr and Uhud, a captain, known as Abu Thabit, he stayed in Sham and passed away there.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ «قُمْ عَلَى صَدَقَةِ بَنِي فُلَانٍ وَانْظُرْ لَا تَأْتِيَنَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِبَكْرٍ تَحْمِلُهُ عَلَى عُنُقِكَ أَوْ كَاهِلِكَ لَهُ رُغَاءٌ» قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اصْرِفْهَا عَنِّي فَصَرَفَهَا عَنْهُ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: "Take charge of the zakat of Banu so-and-so, and be careful not to come on the Day of Resurrection with a young camel carrying it on your neck or shoulder, while it bleats." He said: O Messenger of Allah, excuse me from it, so he excused him.
