حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقَطِرَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْحَرَشِيُّ قَالَا ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ أَخْدَرِيٍّ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي شَقْرَةَ

يُقَالُ لَهُ أَصْرَمُ كَانَ فِي النَّفَرِ الَّذِينَ أَتَوْا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَأَتَاهُ بِغُلَامٍ لَهُ حَبَشِيٍّ اشْتَرَاهُ بِتِلْكَ الْبِلَادِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اشْتَرَيْتُ هَذَا فَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ تُسَمِّيَهُ وَتَدْعُوَ لَهُ بِالْبَرَكَةِ قَالَ «مَا اسْمُكَ أَنْتَ؟» قَالَ قَالَ أَصْرَمُ قَالَ «بَلِ أَنْتَ زُرْعَةُ» قَالَ «فَمَا تُرِيدُهُ؟» قَالَ أُرِيدُهُ رَاعِيًا قَالَ «فَهُوَ عَاصِمٌ» وَقَبَضَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ كَفَّهُ

✧ He was called Asram. He was among the group who came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: He brought him an Abyssinian slave boy of his whom he had purchased in that region and said, “O Messenger of Allah, I bought this one and I would like you to name him and supplicate for blessing for him.” He said, “What is your name?” He said: He said, “Asram.” He said, “Rather, you are Zur'ah.” He said, “What do you want for him?” He said, “I want him as a shepherd.” He said, “Then he is 'Asim.” And the Prophet ﷺ closed his hand.
