حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا عَمَّارُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ الْأَزْرَقِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ

خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْجُحْفَةِ يَوْمَ غَدِيرِ خُمٍّ وَهُوَ آخِذٌ بِعَضُدِ عَلِيٍّ فَقَالَ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنِّي أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ؟» قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «فَمَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاهُ فَهَذَا مَوْلَاهُ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ came out at al-Juhfah on the day of Ghadir Khumm, holding Ali by the upper arm, and said: “O people, do you not know that I am more entitled to the believers than their own selves?” They said: Yes, O Messenger of God. He said: “Whoever’s mawla I am, this is his mawla.”
