حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ الْمَازِنِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا أَبُو كَثِيرِ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ بْنِ سَلِيطٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ وَاثِلَةَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ

لَمَّا رَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ وَنَزَلَ غَدِيرَ خُمٍّ أَمَرَ بِدَوْحَاتٍ فَقُمْتُ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَقَالَ «كَأَنِّي قَدْ دُعِيتُ فَأَجَبْتُ إِنِّي تَارِكٌ فِيكُمُ الثَّقَلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا أَكْبَرُ مِنَ الْآخَرِ كِتَابَ اللهِ وَعِتْرَتِي أَهْلَ بَيْتِي فَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ تَخْلُفُونِي فِيهِمَا؟ فَإِنَّهُمَا لَنْ يَتَفَرَّقَا حَتَّى يَرِدَا عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللهَ مَوْلَاي وَأَنَا وَلِيُّ كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ» ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِيَدِ عَلِيٍّ فَقَالَ «مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاهُ فَهَذَا مَوْلَاهُ اللهُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالَاهُ وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ» فَقُلْتُ لِزَيْدٍ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ «مَا كَانَ فِي الدَّوْحَاتِ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا قَدْ رَآهُ بِعَيْنَيْهِ وَسَمِعَهُ بِأُذُنَيْهِ»

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from the Farewell Pilgrimage and stopped at Ghadir Khumm, he ordered that the large trees be cleared. Then he arose and said: "It is as if I have been summoned and I will answer. I am leaving among you the two weighty things, one of which is greater than the other: the Book of Allah and my offspring, the people of my house. So watch how you succeed me in them, for they will never separate until they return to me at the Pond." Then he said: "Allah is my Master, and I am the guardian of every believer." Then he took 'Ali by the hand and said: "He whose master I am, this is his master. O Allah, befriend whoever befriends him and be hostile to whoever is hostile to him." I said to Zayd: "Did you hear it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said: "There was no one among the trees who did not see him with his own eyes and hear him with his own ears."
