حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ قَالَ

زَيْدٌ لَمَّا كَتَبْنَا الْمَصَاحِفَ فَقَدْتُ آيَةً كُنْتُ أَسْمَعُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَجَدْتُهَا عِنْدَ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ {مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا} قَالَ «وَكَانَ خُزَيْمَةُ يُدْعَى ذَا الشَّهَادَتَيْنِ»

✧ Zayd said: When we were writing the mushafs, I missed a verse that I used to hear from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I found it with Khuzaymah b. Thabit al-Ansari: {Among the believers are men who have been true to what they pledged to Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their vow, and some are still waiting, and they have not changed in the least.} He said, "Khuzaymah was called Dhu al-Shahadatayn (the one of two testimonies)."
