حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ الْعُقَيْلِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُلَاثَةَ ثنا ثَوْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ

أَصَابَنِي أَرَقُّ اللَّيْلِ فَشَكَوْتُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «قُلِ اللهُمَّ غَارَتِ النُّجُومُ وهَدَأَتِ الْعُيُونُ وَأَنْتَ حَيٌّ قَيُّومٌ يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ أَنِمْ عَيْنِي وأهْدِئْ لِيَلِي» فَقُلْتُهَا فَذَهَبَ عَنْي

✧ I suffered from insomnia at night, so I complained about that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: "Say: O Allah, the stars have set, the eyes have become still, and You are Ever-Living, Self-Sustaining. O Ever-Living, O Self-Sustaining, grant rest to my eye and calm my night." I said it, and it went away from me.
