حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ الْأَخْرَمُ قَالَا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ النَّشَائِيُّ ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ الْمُسْلِيُّ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْمُلَائِيِّ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ فَقَالَ
أَتَى الْأَعْرَابُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ عَلَيْنَا حَرَجٌ فِي كَذَا؟ عَلَيْنَا حَرَجٌ فِي كَذَا؟ قَالَ لَا حَرَجَ وَضَعَ اللهُ الْحَرَجَ إِلَّا امْرِءاٌ اقْتَرَضَ مِنْ عِرْضِ أَخِيهِ فَذَلِكَ الْحَرَجُ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَنَتَدَاوَى؟ قَالَ تَدَاوَوْا فَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَمْ يُنْزِلْ دَاءً أَلَا وَقَدْ أَنْزَلَ لَهُ شِفَاءً إِلَّا الْهَرَمَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا خَيْرُ مَا أُعْطِيَ الْإِنْسَانُ؟ قَالَ «الْخُلُقُ الْحَسَنُ»

✧ The Bedouins came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, is there any sin upon us in such-and-such? Is there any sin upon us in such-and-such?" He said, "There is no sin. Allah has removed the sin except for a man who borrows from the honor of his brother; that is the sin." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, should we seek treatment?" He said, "Seek treatment, for Allah ﷻ has not sent down any disease but that He has sent down for it a cure, except old age." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the best thing a human being has been given?" He said, "Good character."
