حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ قَالَ §تُوُفِّيَ زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ سَنَةَ خَمْسٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةَ سِتٍّ وَخَمْسُونَ وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَقُولُ مَاتَ سَنَةَ ثَمَانٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ وَسَنَةَ تِسْعٍ وَخَمْسِينَ

لِأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَجَازَهُ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ وَالْخَنْدَقُ فِي شَوَّالٍ سَنَةَ أَرْبَعَ وَقَدِ اخْتُلِفَ فِي وَفَاتِهِ

Translation

  2. Yaḥyá b. Bukayr

✧ Because the Messenger of God ﷺ deemed him fit for service on the Day of the Trench when he was fifteen years old, and the Trench was in Shawwal of the year four; and there is disagreement about his death.
