حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ ثنا أَبِي ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

«خَرَجَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ غَازِيًا فِي الْبَحْرِ فَمَاتَ فِي السَّفِينَةِ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا لَهُ مَكَانًا يَدْفِنُونَهُ فِيهِ فَانْتَظِرُوا بِهِ سِتَّةَ أَيَّامٍ حَتَّى وَجَدُوا لَهُ بَعْدَ سَبْعٍ مَكَانًا يَدْفِنُونَهُ فِيهْ وَلَمْ يُغَيَّرْ كَمَا هُوَ» وَأَمَّا مَنْ قَالَ مَاتَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ

✧ "Abu Talha went out on a military expedition by sea and died on the ship. They could not find a place on land to bury him, so they waited with him for six days, until after seven they found a place to bury him, and he had not changed from how he was." As for those who said he died in Madinah…
