حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ثنا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ثنا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

لَمَّا تَابَ اللهُ عَلَى أَبِي لُبَابَةَ قَالَ أَبُو لُبَابَةَ جِئْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَهْجُرُ دَارَ قَوْمِي الَّتِي أَصَبْتُ بِهَا الذَّنْبَ وأَنْخَلِعُ مِنْ مَالِي صَدَقَةً لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا أَبَا لُبَابَةَ يُجْزِئُ عَنْكَ الثُّلُثَ» قَالَ فَتَصَدَّقْتُ بِالثُّلُثِ

✧ When Allah accepted the repentance of Abu Lubabah, Abu Lubabah said: I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, I am abandoning the dwelling of my people in which I committed the sin, and I am divesting myself of my wealth as charity for Allah and His Messenger." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Abu Lubabah, a third will suffice you." He said, "So I gave a third in charity."
