حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ

أَنَّ عَبْدًا كَانَ بَيْنَ بَنِي سَعِيدٍ فَأَعْتَقُوهُ إِلَّا وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمْ فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُسْتَشْفَعُ بِهِ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ وَكَلَّمَهُ فِيهِ فَوَهَبَ الرَّجُلُ نَصِيبَهُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ «فَأَعْتَقَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ» وَكَانَ يَقُولُ أَنَا مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ اسْمُهُ رَافِعًا أَبَا الْبَهِيِّ

Translation

  5. Muḥammad b. ʿAmr b. Saʿīd

✧ A slave belonged to Banu Sa'id, and they freed him except one of them. He came to the Prophet ﷺ seeking his intercession with the man, and he spoke to him about him, so the man gave his share to the Prophet ﷺ, and the Messenger of God ﷺ freed him. He used to say: I am the freedman of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and his name was Rafi' Abu al-Bahi.
