حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ وَعَطَاءٍ وَمُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ

خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَنَهَانَا عَنْ أَمْرٍ كَانَ لَنَا نَافِعًا وَأَمْرُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ خَيْرٌ لَنَا مِمَّا نَهَانَا عَنْهُ قَالَ «مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ أَرْضٌ أَوْ لِيَزْرَعْهَا أَخَاهُ أَوْ لِيَمْنَحْهَا» قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ يَجْمَعُ بِقُولِ طَاوُسٍ وَعَطَاءٍ وَمُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَكَأَنَّ الَّذِي يُحَدِّثُ عَنْهُ مُجَاهِدٌ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ صَاحِبُ الْحَدِيثِ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ came out to us and forbade us something that had been beneficial to us, and the command of the Messenger of God ﷺ is better for us than what he forbade us from. He said: «Whoever has land should either let his brother cultivate it or grant it (as a gift).» Shuʿba said: ʿAbd al-Malik used to combine the statements of Tawus, ʿAtaʾ, and Mujahid. Shuʿba said: It is as if the one Mujahid narrates from said—Shuʿba said—the companion of the hadith.
