حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ حَمَّادٍ الْبَرْبَرِيُّ وَعَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو السُّكَيْنِ ثنا عَمُّ أَبِي زَحْرِ بْنِ حِصْنٍ عَنْ جَدِّهِ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ مَنْهَبٍ قَالَ قَالَ خُرَيْمُ بْنُ أَوْسٍ
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «هَذِهِ الْحِيرَةُ الْبَيْضَاءُ قَدْ رُفِعَتْ لِي وَهَذِهِ الشَّيْمَاءُ بِنْتُ بُقَيْلَةَ الْأَزْدِيَّةُ عَلَى بَغْلَةٍ شَهْبَاءَ مُعْتَجِرَةٌ بِخِمَارٍ أَسْوَدَ» فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَإِنْ نَحْنُ دَخَلْنَا الْحِيرَةَ وَوَجَدْتُهَا عَلَى هَذِهِ الصِّفَةِ فَهِي لِي؟ قَالَ «هِي لَكَ» ثُمَّ ارْتَدَّتِ الْعَرَبُ فَلَمْ يَرْتَدَّ أَحَدٌ مِنْ طَيِّئٍ وَكُنَّا نُقَاتِلُ بَنِي أَسَدٍ وَفِيهِمْ طُلَيْحَةُ بْنُ خُوَيْلِدٍ الْفَقْعَسِيُّ فَامْتَدَحَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ وَكَانَ فِيمَا قَالَ فِينَا

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: “This white al-Ḥīra has been shown to me, and this al-Shaymāʾ bt. Buqayla al-Azdiyya on a dappled gray mule, veiled with a black khimār.” I said: “O Messenger of God, if we enter al-Ḥīra and I find her in this description, is she mine?” He said: “She is yours.” Then the Arabs apostatized, but no one from Ṭayyiʾ apostatized. We fought Banū Asad, among whom was Ṭulayḥa b. Khuwaylid al-Faqʿasī. Khālid b. al-Walīd praised us, and among what he said about us was.
