حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْكِنْدِيُّ ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ إِدْرِيسَ الْأَوْدِيِّ عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ دَخَلْنَا عَلَى خَبَّابٍ نَعُودُهُ فَبَكَى

وَقَالَ فِي هَذَا التَّابُوتِ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا مَا شُدَّ لَهَا وِكَاءٌ وَلَا مُنِعَ مِنْهَا سَائِلٌ وَدِدْتُ أَنَّهَا كَذَا وَكَذَا إِمَّا قَالَ «بَعْرٌ» وَإِمَّا قَالَ «غَيْرُهُ»

✧ He said concerning this chest, "Seventy thousand — no cover was tied over it and no beggar was refused from it. I wish it were such-and-such" — either he said "camel dung" or he said "something else."
