حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ قَالَ

«كَانَتِ الْفِتْنَةُ خَمْسَ سِنِينَ لِلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ؓ مِنْ ذَلِكَ أَرْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ وَكَانَتِ الْجَمَاعَةُ عَلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ سَنَةَ أَرْبَعِينَ»

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. al-Miqdām b. Dāwud
  2. ʿAlī b. Maʿbad
  3. ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAmr
  4. ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad b. ʿAqīl

✧ "The turmoil lasted for five years for Al-Hasan ibn Ali, and from that, four months. And the group was with Muawiyah for forty years."
