حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ قَالَتْ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَرْمِي جَمْرَةَ الْعَقَبَةِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ مِنْ بَطْنِ الْوَادِيِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لَا يَقْتُلْ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا وَارْمُوا بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ فَرَمَى سَبْعًا» ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ وَلَمْ يَقِفْ وَخَلْفَهُ رَجُلٌ يَسْتُرُهُ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَقُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا؟ فَقَالُوا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ

✧ I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was stoning Jamrat al-‘Aqabah on the Day of Sacrifice from the bottom of the valley, and he was saying: “O people, do not kill one another. Stone with pebbles like those used for khazf.” He threw seven [pebbles], then left without stopping. Behind him was a man shielding him from the people. I said: “Who is this?” They said: “Al-Fadl b. ‘Abbas.”
