✧ The Mother of al-Ala' al-Ansariyyah, the Woman of Zaid b. Thabit

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا أَبِيُ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ وَعُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ بِنْتِ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ قَالَتْ لَقَدْ

مَكَثْنَا وَآلُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ شَهْرًا وَمَا لَنَا وَلَهُمْ إِلَّا تَنُّورٌ وَاحِدٌ نَخْبِزُ فِيهِ «فَحَفِظْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ق مِمَّا يَقْرَأُ بِهَا عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ»

✧ We and the family of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained for a month with nothing for us or them except a single oven in which we baked. “I memorized from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ Qaf, from what he used to recite from it on the pulpit on Friday.”
