حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا وَكِيعٌ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جُمَيْعٍ حَدَّثَتْنِي جَدَّتِي وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ عَنْ أُمِّ وَرَقَةَ بِنْتِ نَوْفَلٍ قَالَتْ

لَمَّا غَزَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَدْرًا قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ائْذَنْ لِي أَنْ أَغْزُوَ مَعَكَ أُدَاوِي جَرْحَاكُمْ وَأُمَرِّضَ مَرْضَاكُمْ لَعَلَّ اللهُ يَرْزُقَنِي شَهَادَةً فَقَالَ قَرِّي فِي بَيْتِكِ فَإِنَّ اللهَ يَرْزُقُكِ الشَّهَادَةَ وَكَانَتْ تُسَمَّى الشَّهِيدَةَ وَكَانَتْ قَدْ قَرَأَتِ الْقُرْآنَ فَاسْتَأْذَنَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ فِي دَارِهَا مَوْضِعًا تُصَلِّي فَأَذِنَ لَهَا

✧ When the Prophet ﷺ went on the expedition to Badr, I said, “O Messenger of God, permit me to go on a raid with you to treat your wounded and nurse your sick, so that perhaps God may grant me martyrdom.” He said, “Stay in your house, for God will grant you martyrdom.” She was called “the martyr,” and she had recited the Qur’an. She asked the Prophet ﷺ for permission to make a place in her house to pray, and he permitted her.
