حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَا ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أنا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أنَّ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ كَانَتْ مَعَ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ وَمَعَهَا خِنْجَرٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا أَبُو طَلْحَةَ مَا هَذَا مَعَكِ يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ؟ قَالَتْ خِنْجَرٌ اتَّخَذْتُهُ إِنْ دَنَا مِنِّي أَحَدٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ أَبْعَجُ بِهِ بَطْنَهُ فَقَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَمَا تَسْمَعُ مَا تَقُولُ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ تَقُولُ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَقْبَلَ مَنْ بَعْدَنَا مِنَ الطُّلَقَاءِ انْهَزَمُوا بِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَالَ «يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ إِنَّ اللهَ قَدْ كَفَى وَأَحْسَنَ»

✧ Umm Sulaym was with Abu Talha al-Ansari on the day of Hunayn, and she had a dagger. Abu Talha said to her, 'What is this with you, O Umm Sulaym?' She said, 'A dagger I have taken; if any of the polytheists comes near me, I will rip his belly with it.' Abu Talha said, 'O Messenger of Allah, do you not hear what Umm Sulaym says? She says such and such.' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, some of the freed captives who came after us fled with you, O Messenger of Allah.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Umm Sulaym, Allah has sufficed and done well.'
