حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

نَظَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ الْعَبَّاسِ تَدُبُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ ﷺ لَئِنْ بَلَغَتْ هَذِهِ وَأَنَا حَيُّ لَأَتَزَوَّجَنَّهَا فَقُبِضَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَبْلُغَ فَتَزَوَّجَهَا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَسَدِ فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ رِزْقَ بْنَ الْأَسْوَدِ وَلُبَابَةَ بِنْتَ الْأَسْوَدِ سَمَّتْهَا بِاسْمِ أُمِّهَا أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at Umm Habibah bt. al-‘Abbas as she toddled in front of him, and he said ﷺ: “If this one reaches [maturity] while I am alive, I will marry her.” He was taken before she reached [maturity], so al-Aswad b. ‘Abd al-Asad married her, and she bore him Rizq b. al-Aswad and Lubabah bt. al-Aswad, whom she named after her mother, Umm al-Fadl.
