حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَيُّوبُ السَّخْتِيَانِيُّ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتَ سِيرِينَ تَقُولُ حَدَّثَتْنَا أُمُّ عَطِيَّةَ أَنَّهُنَّ جَعَلْنَ رَأْسَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ثَلَاثَ قُرُونٍ قُلْتُ نَقَضَتْهُ فَغَسَلَتْهُ فَجَعَلَتْهُ ثَلَاثَ قُرُونٍ؟ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ

Translation

✧ I heard Ḥafṣah bint Sīrīn say: Umm ʿAṭiyyah told us that they made the hair of the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ into three braids. I said: “Did she undo it, wash it, and then make it into three braids?” She said: “Yes.”
