حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ قَالَتْ سَأَلْتُ أُمَّ عَطِيَّةَ هَلِ

سَمِعْتِ هَذَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَعْنِي فِي الْمَرْأَةِ لَا يَكُونُ لَهَا جِلْبَابٌ هَلْ تَشَهْدُ الْعِيدَ؟ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ بِأَبِي وَكَانَتْ إِذَا حَدَّثَتْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ بِأَبِي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَخْرِجُوا الْعَوَاتِقَ وَذَوَاتِ الْخُدُورِ فَلْيَشْهَدْنَ الْعِيدَ وَدَعْوَةَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَيَعْتَزِلْنَ الْحُيَّضُ مُصَلًّى الْمُسْلِمِينَ»

✧ I heard this from the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ, regarding women who do not have a jilbab (outer garment): Do they witness the celebration? She said: Yes, by my father. Whenever she spoke about the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ, she would say: By my father, I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ, saying, "Allow the unmarried women and those who menstruate to attend the Eid prayer and the supplication of the Muslims, but let them stay away from the prayer area."
