حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا مُصَرِّفُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْيَامِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ

أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ امْرَأَةٌ يُقَالُ لَهَا أُمُّ عُمَارَةَ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا يَنْزِلُ الْقُرْآنُ إِلَّا فِي الرِّجَالِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ وَالْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ}

✧ A woman called Umm 'Umara came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, the Quran is only revealed concerning men." Then Allah revealed this verse: {Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women}.
