حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ قَالَتْ

شَكَّ النَّاسُ فِي صَوْمِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ فَقُلْتُ أَنَا أَعْلَمُ لَكُمْ ذَلِكَ فَأَرْسَلْتُ إِلَيْهِ بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ لَبَنٌ فَشَرِبَ

Translation

✧ The people were uncertain about the Prophet's ﷺ fasting on the day of ‘Arafah. I said: “I will resolve that for you.” So I sent him a vessel containing milk, and he drank.
