al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 21364

✧ Fatimah daughter of Hamza son of Abd al-Muttalib is nicknamed Umm al-Fadl, and it is also said that her name is Ummamah, and it is also said to be Umarah.

حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْهَاشِمِيُّ ثنا أَبُو مَرْوَانَ الْعُثْمَانِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ الْأَسَدِيَّةُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ تَسْتَفْتِيهِ وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَةً تُسْتَحَاضُ فَقَالَتْ وَاللهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا أَطْهُرُ أَفَأَتْرُكُ الصَّلَاةَ لِهَذَا؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ عِرْقٌ وَلَيْسَ بِالْحَيْضَةِ فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَتْ فَاتْرُكِي الصَّلَاةَ وَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ فَاغْسِلِي عَنْكِ الدَّمَ ثُمَّ صَلِّي»

✧ Fatimah bt. Abi Hubaysh al-Asadiyya came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seeking his legal opinion. She was a woman who had prolonged vaginal bleeding and said, “By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, I do not become pure. Should I abandon the prayer because of this?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “That is only a vein, not menstruation. When it begins, abandon the prayer, and when it ends, wash the blood from yourself, then pray.”
