al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 21360

✧ Fatimah daughter of Hamza son of Abd al-Muttalib is nicknamed Umm al-Fadl, and it is also said that her name is Ummamah, and it is also said to be Umarah.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا أَبِي ثنا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ جَاءَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلَا أَطْهُرُ أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ عِرْقٌ وَلَيْسَتْ بِالْحَيْضَةِ فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَتِ الْحَيْضَةُ فَدَعِي الصَّلَاةَ وَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ فَاغْسِلِي عَنْكِ أَثَرَ الدَّمِ وَصَلِّي»

✧ Fatimah bt. Abi Hubaysh came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, “I am a woman who has prolonged vaginal bleeding and do not become pure. Should I abandon the prayer?” He said, “That is only a vein, not menstruation. When menstruation begins, abandon the prayer, and when it ends, wash away the traces of blood from yourself and pray.”
