حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ أُمِّ أَبِيهِ قَالَتْ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ الْجِهَادَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَقَالَ «أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى جِهَادٍ لَا شَوْكَةَ فِيهِ؟» قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ «حَجٌّ الْبَيْتِ»

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “I want to strive in the path of God.” He said, “Shall I not direct you to a striving with no hardship in it?” The man said, “Yes.” He said, “Pilgrimage to the House.”
