حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْخَطَّابِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ عَنِ الرُّبَيِّعِ بِنْتِ مُعَوِّذِ بْنِ عَفْرَاءَ قَالَتْ

بَعَثَنِي مُعَوِّذُ بْنُ عَفْرَاءَ بِقِنَاعٍ مِنْ رُطَبٍ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرٌ مِنْ قِثَّاءٍ زُغْبٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُحِبُّ الْقِثَّاءَ وَكَانَتْ طَيْبَةُ قَدْ قَدِمَتْ مِنَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ فَمَلَأَ يَدَهُ مِنْهَا فَأَعْطَانِيهَا»

✧ Mu‘awwidh b. ‘Afra’ sent me with a basket of fresh dates, upon which were small cucumbers with fuzz, to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to love cucumbers. Some good ones had just arrived from Bahrain, so he filled his hand with them and gave them to me.
