حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ جَحْشٍ قَالَتْ

اسْتُحِضْتُ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ فَشَكَوْتُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَيْسَتْ تِلْكَ حَيْضَةٌ وَلَكِنَّهُ عِرْقٌ فَاغْتَسِلِي» فَكَانَتْ تَغْتَسِلُ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ وَكَانَتْ تَغْتَسِلُ فِي الْمِرْكَنِ فَتَرَى صُفْرَةَ الدَّمِ فِي الْمِرْكَنِ

✧ "I suffered from prolonged menstrual bleeding (istihada) for seven years, and I complained about that to the Messenger of God ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'That is not menstruation, but rather it is a vein, so perform ghusl.' So she would perform ghusl at the time of every prayer, and she would perform ghusl in a large basin, and one could see the yellowish tinge of blood in the basin."
