حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدُوسِ بْنِ كَامِلٍ السِّرَاجُ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ ثنا حُجَيْنُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ الْمَاجِشُونُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْإِنْسَانُ قَبْرَهُ حَفَّ بِهِ عَمَلُهُ الصَّالِحُ الصَّلَاةُ وَالصِّيَامُ وَيَأْتِيهِ الْمَلِكُ مِنْ نَحْوِ الصَّلَاةِ فَيَرُدُّهُ وَمِنْ نَحْوِ الصِّيَامِ فَيَرُدُّهُ فَيُنَادِيهِ اجْلِسْ فَيَجْلِسُ فَيَقُولُ لَهُ مَا تَقُولُ فِي هَذَا الرَّجُلِ؟ قَالَ وَأَيُّ رَجُلٍ؟ قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ فَيَقُولُ وَاللهِ مَا أَدْرِي سَمِعْتُ النَّاسَ يَقُولُونَ شَيْئًا فَقُلْتُهُ فَيَقُولُ الْمَلِكُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ عِشْتَ وَعَلَيْهِ مُتَّ وَعَلَيْهِ تُبْعَثُ قَالَ وتُقَيَّضُ لَهُ دَابَّةٌ فِي قَبْرِهِ سَوْدَاءُ مُظْلِمَةٌ مَعَهَا سَوْطٌ تَمْرَتُهُ جَمْرَةٌ فَيَضْرِبُهُ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ لَا يَسْمَعُ صَوْتَهُ أَحَدٌ فَيَرْحَمُهُ

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: When a person enters his grave, his righteous deeds surround him – prayer and fasting. The angel comes to him from the direction of prayer and turns him back, and from the direction of fasting and turns him back. Then he calls to him: Sit up. So he sits up. He says to him: What do you say about this man? He said: Which man? He said: Muhammad. He said: By God, I do not know; I heard people saying something and I said it. The angel says: Upon that you lived, and upon that you died, and upon that you will be resurrected. He said: And a beast is prepared for him in his grave, black and dark, with a whip whose lash is a live coal. It strikes him as long as God wills; no one hears his voice except that he would pity him.
